The last time we met here we covered lesson 17 and we discussed the feasts of Israel and we ended with the Feast of Trumpets. The next Feast is Atonement, which we talked about a little the last time when we were discussing Aaron and the priesthood. We will complete our discussion of the Feasts and look for Christ in the Book of Numbers.

The Seven Feasts:
Six feasts are working – the seventh is rest
Our week six days of work – rest on the seventh
Creation six days God worked – on seventh He rested.
Four days before Passover choose your lamb and inspect for spot or blemish – Christ entered Jerusalem four days before Passover on Palm Sunday so the Jews could inspect Him before they chose Him as their lamb.

Apart from God Israel were sojourners wandering aimlessly without direction or purpose. – Without Christ we too are aimless wanderers in the wilderness of this world.

The bronze serpent on a pole is a picture of Christ on the cross. If they were bitten, they only had to look up at the serpent on the pole to live.
Balaam and the talking donkey – The Angel of the Lord the preincarnate Christ stood in the road to block the donkey’s path.

The blood of the heifer provided for purification from sin – Jesus’ blood shed on the cross provides for purification from sin.
